In this special bonus episode of dissertation diaries, I’m joined by Amy Philburn as we discuss the interplay between lad culture and sexual harassment. We share our own experiences of street harassment, ask what men can do to help tackle the issue, and try to solve the mystery of missing male allyship in the feminist movement. We also discuss the case of Sarah Everard and the culture pyramid that contributes to femicide and male violence against women.

I first interviewed Amy last year when she shared her dissertation on working-class female experiences at elite universities. Although that discussion is a starting point for this episode, the content of this podcast is more of an informal discussion on some very important topics. Listener discretion is advised, the topics of sexual harassment and violence feature heavily.
